格陵蘭自2021年起已禁止鈾礦開採及所有未來石油探勘。當地政府目前正在審查德州公司「格陵蘭能源」（Greenland Energy）是否可使用禁令生效前的舊許可證。該公司8月曾表示，計畫於2027年在格陵蘭東岸一處未測試盆地鑽探石油，但本身並無許可證；前持有人美國大西洋富田公司（ARCO）曾在1970年代投入大量地震探勘，卻從未鑽井。
